Be Prepared for Spring Training

Author: Peter Portero

When you are looking for tickets and travel accommodations to spring training you will find that they are usually a lot easier to purchase and less expensive than most football tickets. In addition, it is nice to spend the rainy seasons of February or March in Florida or Arizona where there is better weather. Spring training can often be a family-bonding affair.

There are two leagues for you to choose from when deciding where to travel. The Cactus League in Arizona and the Grapefruit League in Florida.

By looking at a good driving time chart, you can determine the best place to stay so you can make it to the most parks within the shortest amount of time. Look through online sources to find a good deal on local hotels. Some websites will even notify you of where teams are staying so you can possibly get player autographs. Tickets to the games will cost between five and fifteen dollars.

If you prefer to have someone else make the travel arrangements then you can contact Spring Training Tours through their website. This company specializes in packages to spring training locations. The site will give you a list of hotels to choose from in two, three, five or seven night packages. The package comes with a four-door rental car, a welcome reception from your favorite teams manager, an autograph session with your favorite teams players, game tickets, a souvenir merchandise package, including all taxes. They also offer discounts on airfare. Most two-night packages start around $550 a person. If you have four or more people, the price can go down to $400.
