School Fundraiser Tips

Author: Rebecca Zaiden

Planning a school fundraiser takes more thought than people think. You have to see when, where, and how you will have your fundraiser. Also, you have to see who is going to keep track of orders (if you are doing catalog orders), who will be in charge of the money, who will distribute the orders, etc. Perhaps the most important part of picking and planning a fundraiser is picking the best one for you! The most important thing to remember is to keep in mind the age and capabilities of the people who will be conducting the fund raiser! Here is a list of important things to remember when planning a school fundraiser.

Pick a fundraiser that the students of your school will be able to manage easily according to their age.

Before you even agree to have the fundraiser, make sure you have enough people to help you before, during, and after the event in order for everything to go as smooth as possible.

Make sure that you do a lot of research on the company you will be using for the fundraiser. The best thing is to get a recommendation from a fellow teacher, parent, friend, or from me! You want to make sure you are dealing with a legitimate business.

Have a contact number ready for the fundraiser company you choose at all times! That way you can call them if any questions or concerns come up.

Try to make the fundraiser as organized as possible. Make sure all the students are fully aware of when the event starts, when it ends, who to turn in the orders, money, etc to.

Make sure you have enough time to properly advertise the event you will be having.
